Week 10 Blog Post

Alison worked with Aleks to figure out how to fix the distortion on our videos. She’s done so on all of our videos!

Amy refilmed the eviction scenes that were still causing us issues, and made a map of shelters to include in the museum scene. She also fixed the distortion on the videos in the museum scene, and inserted our new info panels into the museum scene.

Aaron completely rewrote our script that displays the audio and video clips. It is way easier to change the length of our videos now. This makes our entire experience into a single scene, which fixes the loading issues we had before.

Erika remade the acknowledgements slide and printed & cut out the handouts for demo day. She also inserted the converted videos into the scenes. Lastly, she rerecorded a couple narration clips and added some new background audio clips.

Our code updates can be found in our repo.

The biggest update is that we are adding an introduction scene to serve a couple of purposes. It will give some instructions to help people get situated correctly on demo day. It will also introduce the user to the gaze buttons, so they know how to use them later in the experience. Otherwise, we don’t have a lot of conceptual project updates.

We have to finish up a lot of small things for next week. Aaron is creating the introduction scene described above. Erika is adding ambient noise to the scenes and reducing static on the audio. Alison is working on our 1 minute teaser video. Amy is finishing up some items in the museum, and is finishing our poster for demo day.

We don’t have any blocking issues!
